Default Cingular Mobitex Network Gone 12/31/2006...Any Replacements?

I've been a subscriber to the Cingular Mobitex network using a Blackbery 9xx
series device for four years. I've hung onto this service because it gets
reception far away from the transmitter. I've sometimes been hiking 10
miles into the backcountry and still during moments of connectivity messages
will go back and forth. In the same situation GSM and TDMA phones are
completely dead.

Do I have any options with any carrier for a service that is similar to the
Mobitex, with a signal that will carry far beyond what GSM can do? I need
to stay in touch by e-mail when I am remote so simply GSM e-mail services
aren't even close to being a good option for me.

* Iridium Satellite Phone
* Iridium Global Satellite Paging
Or stick with Mobitex:
* USA Mobility
