Disable side buttons or Voice Command on Samsung SGH-D407 (Cingular)?

How can I disable all of the side buttons, or else disable the Voice Command
feature, on this phone? When I'm carrying it in its belt holster, the side
buttons often get pressed unintentionally. Then the phone either beeps or
says "Say a command" and may even respond to ambient noise by dialing
someone. This is extremely awkward.

Also, what is the best way to get this phone unlocked?
