Email client selection

I have a V3xx and my email provider is Bellsouth. What is the
advantage of using the email program/setup specified in:
http://cell.wikia.com/wiki/Motorola#...t_Email_Client
vs the Bellsouth one already setup on the phone? Or is it only a
matter of preference?
