Default Enhanced Voice Mail

Does anyone know what Enhanced Voice Mail is and how does it differ from
regular? I'm getting ready to extend my contract and i notice that they
now have something called Enhanced Voice Mail for an extra US $1.99. I
have voice mail now and it's free. Are they looking to charge from
something that was free, or is this a more full featured facility.

And it's been available as an option for years.

Still not as good as the voicemail system that existed before they bought
ATT
in the first place. (at least in the Seattle market) I never had to worry
about the messages timing out after a set period of time. I had better
service from Cingular five years ago.
