What's wrong with that? India is a high-tech leader.

Irrelevant. I've source lots of high-tech computer parts from India,
and quality has been excellent. In this case the manufacturers include
Flextronics (known for high-tech manufacturing excellence), and the
phones are intended for sale in India*, as you would know if you'd
bothered to read this article any more carefully than the last one.

(* "The phones will offer customized features for the Indian market,
such as local content and customized keypads.")

Guess you've never heard of GM, Ford, or Chrysler, some of the
crappiest cars made in the world.

Besides, I currently have a Sony Ericsson phone, Z525a, and I'm not
very impressed with it as it is (I have no idea where it's
manufactured).

Halfway between Finland and Japan, I'd guess. Iraq, maybe?
