iphone with old plan

hi, I have a $29.95/month plan with Cingular. The 1 year contract
already expired, so I can cancel/upgrade anytime. I am thinking buy a
iphone. My question is can I keep my phone number and the $29.95 plan
with my new iphone? I am ok to add a $20/month data plan but really
want to keep my $29.95 voice plan because I do not talk too much.

No. I was in the store buying a few xmas gifs a few weeks ago and a guy
asked that same question. They told him the min plan was 39.99 plus the
20.00 data plan. Which will now be approx 66.00 a month after fee's and
taxes. Who knows, you may get lucky and find a salesman that needs a sell
and will find a way to get it for you. I find a lot of stores can make the
rules as they go.
