Hmmmmmm. No, it doesn't work that way. You defend your OWN arguments
and assertions. You don't let them stand and tell the other guy to "go
figure it out for yourself".

Which means, of course, that you CAN'T defend your assertion that "a
charter is always necessary". That's because it simply can't be
defended, because it isn't true.
