Default Slvr Questions

I just got my new phone and I like it but I'm have some questions and the
manual is useless.

When I add a contact and then add other numbers for work home etc, they show
as individual listings and they aren't labeled as home work etc. Is there
anyway to keep them under one name and expand if I select that name?

I have taken some pictures but I dont' know how to download them to my pc,
when I connect by usb i can't find them by navigating to the pictures
folder. On top of that, I tried adding a picture to the pictures folder and
a midi file to the ringtones folder and I don't know how to access those
within the phone.

When listening to music and a call comes in, I assume the music is put on
pause?

Voicenames don't seem to work when earbuds/mic is connected. I tried
pressing the button on the mic and saying a voicename and I also tried using
the button on the side of the phone and speaking into the mic and the phone
but it didn't work. Is this normal?

It certainly seems to be.

For my Motorola v551, with similar features on other Motorola phones:

To have multiple numbers under one name:
Phonebook, menu, setup, View: Primary Contacts.
This leaves one number showing in the phonebook at a top level.
left-right or View and up/down to see the other numbers.
left-right leaves the last number viewed as the primary number for use at
the top level.

I find that voice dialing works better if you record the entry using the
microphone that will be used to fetch it. A Bluetooth headset gives a
much different sounding recording than the internal mic.

I also find that voice dialing doesn't work reliably with the Bluetooth
headset. Only short names, like "home", seem to be usable.

You didn't ask, but I had this lying around:
The memory positions 1-9 are 1-touch dial positions.
phonebook-menu-setup:view by list, sort by speed no, done.
Find one of the low numbered positions that you want to use. If it's
already occupied, "edit" the speed number to some higher number.

phonebook-menu-setup:view by list, sort by name, done.
Add the phone number that you want, and edit the speed number to the
position you want to use for 1-touch dial.

You can dial that number by holding the number for a couple of seconds.

Settings;Initial Setup;1-touch dial has to match either phone or SIM, where
you've stored the numbers. I store to the phone because it can contain
more information.

Any of the other numbers can be "speed dialed" by entering the
memory location digits,#,dial, but that's more awkward.

Thanks so much for this info, I feel so stupid because usually with
technical stuff I do just fine, but I wasn't used to the Motorola menus and
so it was cumbersome to try and figure this out and I actually got rid of my
SLVR after a week for multiple reasons (I don't like anything about it), but
this was a major pet peeve of mine. Nobody I talked to at the Cingular
store or by phone had this info, go figure. I had also searched didn't find
these instructions until now. They still come in handy because my husband
has the Razr V3 and so he was thrilled to have it work this way.

I also hate that Motorola wants to sell you software that other phone
manufacturers give you for free.

Again, thank you!
