Well not really, but a non-3G SIM will work in a 3G or non-3G phone (you
won't get 3G in a 3G phone with a non-3G SIM. Similarly, a 2G or 2.5G
SIM will work in a 3G phone, you just won't get 3G data speeds.
I did see something that stated that there were some issues with the HTC
phones where you couldn't use a non-3G SIM, but it wasn't clear if this
was because the handset wasn't really unlocked, or if it really required
a 3G SIM.
