Default Text to an email address?

I want to send a text message from my Blackberry Curve to an email address.
I say text message because I have no data plan. The Curve does not seem to
let me put an email address on the to line. Help please. Is this a
Blackberry problem or a texting limitation problem.

Fred

Both. A texting problem in that you can't send directly to an email
address with a text message. Instead, you send a specially formated text
to special "text to email" gateway set up by your carrier. It's also a
Blackberry problem in that most phones "figure out" what you're trying to
do and format the text automatically when you type an email address in the
"to:" field.

I found this blog explaing how to do it on Cingular (presumably it hasn't
changed):
sms-text.html>

Send a text to 0000000000 (ten zeros), containing the email address to send
to, immediately followed by the subject in parentheses, a space, then the
message. If you don't need a subject (it all comes out of the 160-
character limit!) it's just email address, space, message.

I'm with T-Mobile, which is similar except we send the texts to "500", and
use pound signs ("#") around the subject instead of parentheses.

That's probably because the URL was mangled by wrapping.
Try: <http://preview.tinyurl.com/nyu2wq>

I'd hoped bracketing the URL would keep it intact, but apparently not.

Thanks for covering for me...

In any case, I believe I repeated all the necessary info- I mostly included
the URL just to give credit where credit was due.

Good suggestion, since quoting suppresses wrapping in many news clients,
but the URL should still be framed in <>
