Text Messaging Charges

I dont' have a text messaging plan with my phone but I'm getting spam. Am I
charged for sending only or receiving also, I would hope that its sending
only. Otherwise I'll have to call them and block txting on my phone both
ways.

You are charged for both sending and receiving.
