All 3G laptop cards are PCMCIA.... There is an option coming. The
Cingular 8125 SmartPhone PDA replacement the to-be "Cingular 8525" was
announced today
http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=12582
This will be a Windows Mobile 5 based PDA/Phone that supports
Cingular's 3G UTMS/HSDPA network. Part of the Windows Mobile 5 standard
is a software utility that runs on the handset called ModemLink which
you can use to "tether" data over Cingular's MediaNET or PDA Connect
data plans. The Cingular 8525 will connect to a PC via USB, and the
Cingular 8525 will be one of the most advanced PDA phones in the world.
If you're not really looking for a PDA phone, you'll have to wait to
mid-late 2007 for Cingular to roll out other HSDPA models that can
tether. If Cingular follows their own trends, the Cingular 2125 will
probably be replaced in early 2007 with a HSDPA model, since it's
replacement would also be Windows Mobile 5 based it would have the
ModemLink software...
