Default What Technology Does Cingular Use?

What technology does Cingular use in the San Jose, CA area? CDMA, GSM
etc....

GSM for new customers. They also operate TDMA and AMPS networks.

As others have no doubt already have posted, Cingular is now GSM
nationwide. In some areas they've always been GSM, in others they
started as an AMPS (analog) cellular carrier, overlayed it with TMA, and
eventually converted to GSM.

Cingular has never used CDMA in any market.

Actually they did run a CDMA network in one market (the old Ameritech
which they purchased). They ran the CDMA network along with the TDMA
network for 14 months, then turned off the CDMA and everyone had to
migrate to TDMA (or leave). Then two years later they started the
migration from TDMA to GSM.
