Default World's First Quad Band Windows Mobile OS Wrist Watch Mobile Phone

Here is an interesting piece of technology that would make Dick Tracy
proud. The World's First Quad Band Windows Mobile OS Wrist Watch
Mobile Phone Begins Shipping April 25th.

Before reading the above article I had already placed the iPhone over
my wrist today and noticed with a proper strap it would make a decent
wrist communicator like Dick's.

Dick Tracey would have been proud to see scarface in living color too.

Pretty impressive. And I heard MS has a new simplified UI just for
watch-based devices. For example, to get a commonly used function like the
current time, you simply select the Start Menu, scroll to Utilities, select,
then scroll to Instrumentation, click, select clock, scroll to select the
correct time zone, click, then hit "refresh" for the current time. Piece of
cake.

Seriously, it looks like a case of bad translation from a cheap offshore
manufacturer. The spec sheet is riddled with contradictions, and the screen
shot doesn't appear to be WinCE based. (This reminds me of a few of those
Chinese iPhone clones available on eBay that claim to run "Windows" as well,
often with an apparently photoshopped Vista start menu screen shot!)

Though, with Windows CE licenses costing OEMs only $10 or so, I don't put it
past any OEM to try something like this. I just hope the wristband color
doesn't clash with the display's "blue screen of death." ;-)

I was casually reading your comment when I hit this last sentence and
fell out of the chair laughing!
I could see that happening with Microsoft's win mobile at a most
inopportune time.

Great. Yet another thing that'll go BSOD at inopportune times...
