Sony Ericsson K770i message alerts

I cannot see any way of configuring my K770i so that it makes a
reasonably loud noise when a new text message is received. Can anyone
help, please?

> help, please?I've sorted this one myself. It's all down to which alert I chose and
use of the volume button on the handset. I've got the message alert
volume so high now that my wife complains when it goes off, though
that's more to do with her dislike of the message alert I am using than
its volume :-)
