Default Atrix and Bluetooth

When I attempt to place a call over my Bluetooth hands-free device
("Blue Ant") in my car when my Atrix is "asleep"(turned on but screen
blanked), the hands-free device will not open the Atrix to accept the
commands. If the Atrix is "active" (not "asleep"), all works well.
This is only a recent phenomenon (the hardware was bought less than 3
months ago and this apparent malfunction first began only a few weeks
ago).

Is there a setting to avoid this?

Best,

Bob

Earlier Mot devices would auto answer if powered in the car. This also kept
the display on.

Did you by any chance recently upgrade the OS on the phone before this
problem started? There was an OS upgrade issued a few weeks ago,
following which it seems several people have reported similar problems
to what you're reporting here. For samples, see the following web
forums, or search Google for "atrix bluetooth wake" (from which I found
these anyway):

There's a setting that I believe is *supposed* to avoid this, in
"Settings->Location and Security" called "Allow Bluetooth Bypass", but I
haven't been able to determine whether or not that setting corrects the
problem for those whose reports I've seen.

Other than that, it seems the general concensus is to set the phone to
avoid going into "sleep" mode while you're using bluetooth. If you have
the Motorola car dock, that's automatic (the phone won't automatically
go into sleep mode while it's in the car dock), so that should help.
Otherwise, it seems there may be task-manager type apps that can help
set that. It's a kludgy work-around at best, but if it provides the
functionality you need until the problem is properly fixed, it might
still be sufficient.

I hope I've helped ...

Many thanks, Sylvain. I have set my phone accordingly and will find
out tomorrow if it works.
