Default Emergency power for (Motorola) cell phones

I would like to have a small battery pack on hand for the following
double fault:
1. PG&E power failure in my home
2. dead cell phone battery

I could just buy a spare battery to fit my cell phone, but this is not
quite optimal, I think. Lithium Ion batteries don't hold a charge for
long periods of time, right?

So the ideal device would
1. have necessary electronics to charge a Moto cell phone.
2. use disposable lithium (not lithium ion) cells.
3. have decent build quality.

Suggestions?

If you're up to building something yourself, find a car charger known to
work on Motorola phones.

Hack the plug off and attach it to a battery pack of your own design, or
leave the plug as-is and use an appropriate socket in your battery pack.

LiIon batteries are supposed to have a self-discharge rate of less than
5% per month, as compared to about 30% for NiMH and NiCd.

Easy plug the phone into your car - get a charger cable say $5.

Or buy an UPS.

You need another battery although some Motorola's will run off a charger
(NOT a trickle charger).

Wrong - quite good (stunning as primaries).

If you haven't got a car just get a small back up battery with a car power
socket.

Doh - read the original post: -

"> 1. PG&E power failure in my home"

so if the power is off then no mains converter will work...
