Default Getting ATT to unlock old cell phone

I have bought a new unlocked cell phone. I plan to take the sim from
my old phone(Motorola V220) and insert it in my new phone and use that
as my primary cell phone.

However, the old phone still works and I would like to get it unlocked
so that I can use it on other networks by buying prepaid sim cards.

Any one have any experience with getting ATT to unlock a cell phone? I
will still be using their service with the new phone.

Tom

Sure -- just ask -- if you are in good standing you'll be sent the
unlock code.

Call customer service and ask for the subsidy unlock code.
Or wander through the web site "contact us" page, "other problem" and send
them email. Include your IMEI number in the email.

IMEI is shown with *#06# on some Motorola phones. It's also printed under
the battery.
