Default razr v3xx - screen display issues - looking for technical advice

I have a screen display issue with my Razr and I'm wondering if
anybody can narrow down the causes for me. The phone still makes and
accepts calls and texts but I can't see anything on either screen to
tell what's going on.
Both the inner and outer screens have power going to them (slightly
illuminated) but there are no graphics visible. Neither screen has
physical damage to them and I'm trying to determine if it is more than
likely a bad flex cable or if there might be additional issues.
I like the phone and prefer to find an identical replacement or get
mine repaired as cost effectively as possible and I don't care to go
for an upgrade and find that they are going to extend me to another 2
year contract.
If anybody has functioning razr phones (V3xx) I'd be interested in
seeing what I can do to pick up an extra one or two as replacements in
the future.
Thank you.

I'd just order a replacement cable from a cheap source like www.cnn.cn and
see if the swap fixes things. Also the very act of opening and inserting
the cable into the sockets may tighten a connection that has come use due
to strain from flexing.
