Default V600 Java apps lost

Hi everybody,

I'm new to this group and know very little about cellulars - so maybe
some of my questions may be a bit stupid - in the case please apologize.

I conntected my V600 to my Mac via USB and connected using a Mac
compiled version of moto4lin. This way I could successfully update the
installed Opera 4.1 to 4.3. This quick success made me a bit foolish,
and I tried another update to Opera 6. That one failed - and now all
java apps are lost. When hitting the Java button, I see the Java logo
for a second or two - but then the message "MIDlet suite not installed"
appears.

I googled that message and found that it means "no Java apps installed".
Installing Opera 4.3 again via moto4lin fails - and so does installing
Opera via the built in WAP browser.

What can I do ? - Ideas are very welcome.

Greetings,

Wolf

PS.: I can upload the Opera .jar to the kjava directory - but opera will
not launch.

Go to to store where you bought your phone and make sure that they are
not too busy. Get down on your knees and beg them to fix it for you.

Next time, be certain that your attempts at tinkering are supported by
the appropriate "know-how"!

If you screw up your phone again, you may be required to pay "time and
materials" for the repair! If you REALLY screw up, you may have to pay
for a new phone!

It's traditional, when updating software on a computer or a device with
a built-in computer, to make a "backup copy" of the original software
and any valuable data stored on the device! This allows you to restore
the "status quo ante" after you inadvertently corrupt the software!
