Boost Vs. Nextel

I currently have a Nextel phone from the company I work(ed) for. I'm
changing jobs and would like to keep the two-way but I plan to use
something else as a phone.

Can I use my hybrid ic502 SIM card in a Boost phone?

Is Boost cost effective if I plan to use only the two-way?

Can Boost Chirp talk to any Nextel Direct Connect?

Can I port my Nextel Direct Connect number over to a Boost Phone?

Boost has a limited selection of phones. Can I unlock a Nextel phone
and use it on the Boost network?

Is Boost owned by Sprint/Nextel? Do they use the same iDEN network?

$1/day for Direct Connect, on top of the cost of minutes for phone use.
