Samsung has launched ‘Samsung Marine’ (B2100), its First Outdoor Phone
in the Indian market. The Samsung Marine is enveloped in a special
anti-shock urethane material, which is dust-proof and can withstand
rain, fog, humidity, sand and extremely hot temperatures. Not that it
means anything more than a statistic, but the Marine is apparently
IP57 certified and is tested under the regulations defined by the US
Department of Defence with Military Standard 810F. The Samsung marine
has a 1.77-inch screen (256K colours, 120x160 pixels) and is loaded
with 1.33 megapixel camera with flash lights, also VGA recording at 15
frames per seconds. The Samsung marine has expandable memory up to 8
GB, supports other multimedia features such as FM radio, camcorder and
music player. Besides it also incorporates outdoor friendly features
like noise cancellation, loud external speakers and flash light. The
built-in flashlight (with dedicated key) is going to come as a welcome
relief for those inevitable moments where your batteries run out. Ths
Samsung Marine B2100 is a GSM Quad-band handset supporting
850/900/1800/1900 bands. It also supports GPRS and EDGE class 10. For
short range communication the phone also supports Bluetooth v2.1 along
with USB connectivity.
