Can you first promise that you don't then complain about poor battery
performance, and why you want to have lights on permanently (not just longer
than 60 seconds)?

Okay, I promise not to complain about poor battery performance ... 'cos
it will be in the hands free getting topped up.
Why do I want this? A couple of reasons (one of which I will keep a
dark, closely guarded secret) but I have a really nice screen saver
which I can't enjoy because the screen goes dark. Not that I spend time
watching it when I'm driving and therefore concentrating on the road;
but I do spend time parked up too.

Thanks Klaas, I would only have been able to point to "some external
applications". Steve, I agree your use scenario being valid, a pity you
cannot set this on a S60 device, it used to be possible on the more simple
(?) phones.

For the 6680 (S60) are more solutions, like S60SpotOn (freeware) http://www.outbank.de/index.php?id=29 (German + English (scroll down in the

Klaas,
Many thanks for your suggestions in this and other posts. I think I have
what I need now :-)
