I don't know about the E71, but many Nokia's (including my N79) can be
configured to act as a VOIP phone.
Look for SIP settings in the menu. You need routine details from your Voip
provider. Once set up you can receive and originate Voip calls on your
WLAN.
Mine is normally logged on at home and usually at offices I visit that have
wi-fi.
If the phone is switched on outside wi-fi coverage the link is made over 3G.
The QoS is poor and in my case my SP T&C imply they might cut me off if they
notice. This was a real "unannounced feature". |
