I have a Nokia n80, (it was my contract phone with orange but i have
now upgraded to another handset). I got the phone from the orange shop
in Glasgow over a year ago and still have the receipt dated may 2006,
iv been using the phone as a spare payg and even tho the phone is
still is in great condition (used krussel case from day 1) it has
developed an annoying fault - everytime the phone is powered off it
loses its date and time info. obviously its simple to reset it
everytime the phone is put on but its a real pain. someone suggested
that even tho the phone is not covered by orange care anymore the g-
tee from nokia on new phones is 2years and i should be able to get it
fixed under warranty.
Can anyone confirm this and let me know how to go about getting it
sorted, should i take it into the supplying orange shop in glasgow or
would i be better going to a carphone warehouse as i believe they
carry out repair wok for nokia, or should i consign it to the bin ;-)
Here in Australia the Nokia manufacturers warranty is for 12 months,
whether it is different for you I don't know.
The first thing I would be doing though is upgrading the firmware via
Nokia's website <http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4226014> which could possibly
fix the problem for you before worrying about repair.
