How to set up number with pauses???

Hi, this is a bit of a unique situation, I think. I have a Nokia 6030
provided by my employer (via Cingular) for work purposes. The company also
uses ATT Teleconferencing Services (among others) and I often have to join
conference calls while on the road. I would like to use the speed dial
feature to join those calls, but for some reason the "pause" or "wait"
feature does not seem to be compatible with ATT's service.

I've tried a few variations -- 111 222 3333p1234567# or 111 222
3333w1234567# and even tried more than one "p" for a longer pause. What
happens is the initial 10 digit number goes through and I get connected to
the automated system and am prompted to enter my PIN. From there, nothing
happens, I have to manually enter the PIN and the #. The wait feature does
not work at all, but with pause, after I manually enter the PIN and #,
suddenly my screen shows "Paused" and the "ppp1234567#" begins to count
down. A little late, I might add. My guess is the phone is waiting for some
indication that it's actually connected to a call before starting the count
down and ATT's service is not doing that until after the PIN is entered.

Any way to get this to work? I hate having to manually put the PIN in while
I'm on the road.

'w' means wait for a dial tone, so it's inappropriate. 'p' pause should default
to a 3 second pause, if this isn't working then try a ',' (a comma). These codes
were intended for modem use though, not robotics, so they may no longer work on
modern systems.

I remember the comma for use as a pause from a previous phone and I also
remember it working well with voice mail. This phone doesn't seem to offer
the comma when storing a number. From the descriptions on how to set pauses
from both the Nokia and Cingular websites, they seem to indicate it's use
for voice mail. That led me to believe it would work with the
teleconferencing as well.

I guess it's an enhancement we can ask for, who know?

Did you try this for your voice mail? The phone would not really know if you
are dialling voice mail or teleconference, if it works with one, it would
work with the other. Did you store the number on the SIM card or the phone
memory? A long time since I've needed these features but it would be odd if
it did not work with your 6030 unless Cingular had disabled the feature, but
I don't see why they would do it. Keep on working with it.
