Default N95 in UK on Orange ?

Hi,

I went in to a shop to find out if they knew when the "N95 problems" might
be sorted and they said it may never be sorted on Orange as their software
overlayed on the phone is not fully compatible... all they could suggest is
I had a repair shop remove the Orange software and let it run on the
standard Nokia software - at least that was the gist of it...

Anyone else heard this / can confirm or suggest any other options ?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi there.

That's right. The software that Orange has on the N95 is not fully
compatible.
Orange love to add their own software onto all their phones.
I believe its actually down to Orange themselves to get their software fixed
right

All smartphones have its problems and they'll continue to as more phones
will have much more functions in them. The only way to avoid having problems
is buy a bog standard phone with no camera or radio.

The shop where you took your phone into would've reset the software back to
original Nokia specs.

One certain way to find out is if truphone is on the phone as Orange has
disabled it from the N95 handset.

Sim free N95s has 'truphone' in them. If you don't then you can always
install it back on and of course no hint of orange applications on ur phone
or wap homepage but nokias.

Hope I've helped in some way.

Thanks for that - at least it confirms the other's comments - now all I have
to do is get the phone and find someone to re-instate the Nokia software and
"truphone"

Thanks,

Nick
