Default N95 updateer phone killer ?

I have just killed my N95
I used Nokia software updater, which takes ages to load, then along
time to download the new update.
It got as far as needing another 48 seconds to install and stopped
and the phone shut down.
Yes it was on the charger, i have tried to do the update again but
no good the updater ?? dicovers the phone thenm downloads the update
then decides the phone is not connected.
The phone only lights up (backlight) when the batter is inserted no
display, i suppose i had better send it back.
THis is my first and last Nokia.

What is your experience on other models regarding SW updates at home? If it
downloads slow, it is probably more of your internet connection speed.
Anyway, if it appears dead, you might consider a hard reset (search for
instructions if you don't know yet how to do it).

This can always happen but if it was frequent, Nokia would for sure withdraw
the updater SW or phone update package. Take it to a service point if you
can't make it wake up.

He said it was being used on the charger. The battery not being fully
charged wouldn't cause the problem.
