Nokia 1208 - colors like LSD

Hi all

I have got a new nokia 1208 to replace my 1200 - the 1208 has colors,
which really is a "#¤%¤# in the !"#¤%"#

My problem - when going through the phonebook, it fades from red to
blue, and in my mind it feels like a LSD trip. I really miss B/W
screens
It is hard for me to use

Can I turn it off?

Windows has a classic option - does nokia?

PS: had an E51 for some time - it was even worse - no fading, but
horrible menus

Drink lots of orange juice this is rumoured to inhibit the flashbacks...
