Default Nokia 6300 now officially without email/IM/PTT support

This is what I got from Nokia's so called support people: (funny that
they ask that you don't send any emails with attachements, but their
emails come as a email with no text, but 1 MIME encoded UTF-8
attachement containing the response).

Note that the message below is despite Nokia's worldwide sites claiming
the 6300 has those features, despite the technical support person at the
north american Nokia telephone support having a 6300 with those features
on it.

Thsi would be considered false advertising by many.

Dear Jean-François,

Thank you for e-mailing the Nokia Care Contact Centre.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your e-mail message and
greatly appr
eciate your patience.

We understand your concern in regards to your Nokia 6300 phone not
having certai
n features.

Jean-François, we regret to inform you that the Nokia 6300 phone does
not offer
a separate e-mail client. However, it does support E-mail SMS however,
this is
a service provider feature and must be setup and supported by them.

As for IM clients, this as well would be controlled by the service
provider and
must be added therefore, an unbranded device would not have this feature
equippe
d.

We regret to inform you that the Nokia 6300 phone does not support the
tradition
al Push to Talk Application. The phone however, does offer the ability
to use Pu
sh-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC), however, this application must be
supported and
added by the service provider and does not come equipped on
un-configured models
.. Therefore, your Nokia 6300 phone does not have PPT capabilities.

The features you are referencing are network dependent and the phone
does have t
he capabilities however, if they are on the device is completely
controlled by t
he provider. When purchasing an un-configured phone certain features are
not add
ed as it has not been setup with a certain service provider.

We regret any inconvenience caused and recommend to contact your place
of purcha
se if you wish to return your Nokia 6300 phone.

If you have any additional questions, please contact us. To ensure
proper handli
ng, please continue to use the current subject line.

Thank you for choosing Nokia for your mobile needs.

Jennifer
E-mail Specialist
