I want to copy the texts from my N79 phone memory to the memory card as I am
running out of phone memory. PCSuite tells me I have not got enough memory
to upload the inbox messages (about 3000 in total). I assume the phone
memory is running out as it stops showing the messages on PCSuite so I
cannot save them or export them.
Is there any other way of getting them off the phone

I am trying to help my daughter who wants to keep all her messages and
refuses to delete the inbox to make it work. The Nokia PCSuite will not
work because it tells me I have run out of (presumabley phone) memory. My
PC has 4GB RAM which should be enough.
I would delete the lot and start again but my daughter refuses. She is now
set to use memory car for future messages but really wants me to rescue the
ones in phone memory. This why I am looking for an alternative method.
You can use phone switch (built in phone s/w) to Bluetooth them to another
phone which itself could be set to use memory card but I am not sure if
this will work.
I hope in a few months time she will see sense and just let me delete them
all

Try moving the one at a time and then deleting them to get enough working
memory to move them en bloc.
The other thing would be to remove any unwanted stuff on the phone - e.g.
downloads of app's that have been installed.
I presume shbe is nowhere near using the 4Gb that is on the card that comes
in the phone?

The phone memory is about 75Mb and it is this that is full with the
messages. She is nowhere near filing up the 4Gb memory card which is why I
changed the message settings to use the card for all future texts.
I think I may be able to delete an application but I am not sure if it is on
card or internal memory.
