I own a 6215i which I bought off Ebay, however, it has a user password lock
on it. I tried the normal default passwords (1234, 1111, ect). Could the
people at Verizon do it even though the phone wasn't orginally registered to
me?

Neither of those are Nokia default codes. Try 12345, or find an independent
unlocker who can reset it for you.

he wont reply to my emails. Ive tried to get in touch with him for a week.
I'm thinking I will take it to the Verizon place and see if there is service
still on it.. if there is, I may have to wait for it to run out before they
can do anything. If the service already is canceled on it, I don't see why
they couldn't do it

Verizon phones are CDMA, GSM/UMTS phones only have an IMEI. You don't need
to look for SIM lock codes.

Have you bought a stolen/lost 'phone that's been offloaded onto you?
Have a look under the battery for the IMEI and email that to Verizon and see
what response you get.

Strangely enough, the 'phones I've just looked at all start IMEI : and then
the number of 15 or 16 digits. I'd be suspicious if that numbers missing
though there are genuine reasons for it not being there.

And the phones you've looked at include CDMA (or Japanese JDC or US TDMA)
phones? Surely all have some sort of a serial number but not all have an
IMEI.

Okay I should have added ESN as it's a US 'phone and not GSM. Presumably
the ESN prefixes the number. At least I've tried to give the guy a pointer
as why his 'phone might not work.
