Re: 6280 - sounds like a bag of spanners! N70 or 6233 any better?

Have to say that I'm really pleased with my N70. There are a few small
faults with it (mainly the battery life is shite), but otherwise it's
OK.

Get yourself a decent sized memory card (I've got 1G and you can fit
all sorts of apps and bits of music on there too (see www.sybianx.com
for software). I keep mine on charge, when not in use & it lasts the
day OK, otherwise 3 or 4 big calls in a day will flatten it. Also keep
bluetooth switched off to maximise battery life.

There's also a fix on the Nokia site, which enables you to specify
saving messages to the memory card, usefull when you upgrade later.

I went for the 6233 over the 6280 because I was not impressed with the
slider part. The only functional difference is that the 6233 uses MicroSD
and the 6280 uses MiniSD. All other specs are the same. The only niggle I
have is that Vodafone only stock it in grey: the white characters on a
grey keypad are difficult to read in bright light. To add insult to injury
the phone arrived in a box illustrated with pictures of the black version
- grrrrrr.

With Dual mode (3G) enabled: not good, I keep mine in GSM mode unless I go
online and keep Bluetooth off if I'm not using it. I use the FM radio and
music player extensively and find I need to recharge every evening.
