Default SMS delivery report

Hi there,

Nokia 9300i

Is it possible to have my phone give me a delivery report the moment my
text message is delivered to the receiver's phone? On my 6230 I had
this feature enabled.
Even though I have set it on my phone, I do not get a delivery report.
I have done it as follows:
Tools | Ctrl Panel | Messaging | Text Message Settings | Delivery
Report -> Yes

Is this not supposed to send me a SMS the moment my text message has
been delivered?

Thanx,
Deon

Haven't used a 9300 but looks the same as on my S60 phone (text message
settings "Receive report" to "yes"). Could it be that your phone supports
multiple message centres and individual settings for each?

It is set not to use same centre.
I don't know what else to set.

Thnx,
Deon

You mean the "reply to with same centre" setting, that has better to be "no"
but this is different. My S60 phone has the option to define several message
centres, one is normally set on the SIM but also the phone can store those.
Didn't try which settings can be set for each one individually.

Hi,

yes, you can get the delivery report to your phone. And it looks like you
have enabled it just the way it should be.
What comes to the "Is this not supposed to send me a SMS" question, some
phones just show you the delivery report as an SMS.
In the S80 devices those reports are handled automatically, and the info is
collected to the device log (menu - tools - log). So you won't get a message
to you inbox, the log actually keeps track of all the delivery reports
(among other things). At least I find this quite handy as I don't always
have to delete the delivery reports from inbox.

Hello!

Please, try this:

CTRL + N to create a new message -> 'Text message' type -> 'Sending options'
option -> 'Sending options' tab -> Click on 'Delivery report' using phone's
joypad -> switch to 'yes'.

Does this work?

6630 shows info with the sent messages.
7710 just pops up a message on the display for a couple of seconds when
a message has been delivered.
