caller ID problems when returning v-mail'ed msgs

When we use our Sprint phone to initiate calls,
the CNID gets sent and received a-ok.

But... we're seeing a problem with v-mail.

One option when retrieving v-mail msgs is to
call back to the original number.

When we do so, the original caller/final recipient sees
"private" or "protected" in their Caller ID display.

Anyone know a solution?
