Default Can't receive SMS from VZW phones

With my new Sprint account, using a Palm Centro, all attempts by VZW users
to send me SMS message result in their getting a return error message
telling them my number "is a landline #. Reply Y to send all TXT messages
to this # as voice."

What gives here?

Hello Ralph,

You need to contact Tech Support and let them know. A trouble ticket
will be created. Somewhere out there the Sprint system and the VZW
system don't see eye to eye with either your PTN or MSID. You tell
Sprint and have one of the VZW people tell VZW. Between the 2 of you,
it will get taken care of.

It was area code 424. Though it's been around for about a year or so in this
area, Verizon and TMobile don't seem to recognize it as having cell phones
in its area. After we switched to a different, much older area code, it
worked fine. Obviously Verizon and TMobile haven't updated their databases.
