Entering delays into phone numbers

I'd like to enter delays into phone numbers so that things like access
codes can be automatically sent once the call's been received. How is
this done on the Treo 755p (Garnet v.5.4.9)?

I haven't tried the 755 but on a 700P the only way I could figure out to
do it was to put a dedicated entry of type 'Speed Dial' for the number
onto a 'favorites' button and then add the delay and access codes into
"More Options" from the Edit menu for that button.

Thus the first edit menu for that favorites button has
Label: <name of button>
Number: 123-456-7890

and the 'More Options' page has
Extra Digits:
,,1234

and the "dial extra Digits automatically box checked, to dial '1234'
after two delay periods after the 123-456-7890 number answers.

If there's another better way, maybe someone else can tell us both.

Thanks but the commas don't appear to create delays on the 755p.

That was it! Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion but it does seem that the initial digit comes
too close after the call is established for my telephony server and
the initial commas seem to be ignored.

Any other ways to delay the beginning of the extra digits?

On my Windows Mobile phone, a"p" is short (2 seconds?) pause. There's no
way to dial it from the phone keypad (which is no real hardship- during a
manually dialed call there's no reason to enter a pause!) but you can enter
it in a contact/phonebook entry ahead of time; i.e. "(800)555-1212ppp1" for
the number 800-555-1212 followed by a 6 second pause then a "1".

I can't fully explain this but it seems that the effect of the same
set of extra digits have varied. At this point, they seem to be
working.
