I have an HTC Evo 4G Sprint phone. Its internal storage fills up for
no sensible reason, and nothing seems to alleviate the problem.
Right now, I have 30.4 MB of space. The Storage Settings show that the
Mail app is 142 MB now, even with ALL folders (including Trash)
emptied. I used Astro File Manager to delete the .Mail folder, as HTC
suggested, but that didn't help. What else can I do?
I've got the same problem with the HTC Evo 4G Sprint phone. My contacts
list is taking approximately 1 megabyte per person on it. That seems
crazy to me. I don't know if there is any way around that other than
deleting some of the lesser important contacts.
Furthermore, the contacts list can't be moved to the SD card which would
eliminate the problem.
Anyone found a good solution to this problem?
Thanks. -- Rik

try the program (available in the Market) called App2SD to see what if any
programs are eligible to be offloaded to your SD card freeing up internal
space.

Try going into the application manager and clearing the data for your
mail app.

Seconded. The Android mail app data file acts sort of like a pst file in
Outlook, or most databases. It never gets smaller- new data just
overwrites the data that was deleted. On the bright side, if you do
nothing, it won't get any bigger either, until you download more than
142mb of email, anyway.

Before I got the suggestion for Titanium, I couldn't wait any longer.
All of the SD-eligible apps had already been moved, so I did a hard
reset.
Two weeks later, the charger port died. At that point I was sick of
the Evo, so I used the upgrade and got an iPhone 4s. That's another
story, that took three weeks.
