Default Mogul backlight never goes off

I don't want my Mogul to shut off completely, just the backlight.

Starting with the backlight on it's lowest setting, I've set it up so when
it is running on "External power" the backlight should go off in "2 min" and
the backlight stays on all night and maybe longer.

Any ideas?

TIA

It sounds as if you also need to set the device to turn itself off, done
on the Power/Advanced tab.

Thanks and I'll give you some more info.

The program, found at the following URL, will cause problems if the device
turns off:
http://us.slingmedia.com/page/slingplayermobile.html

All I want to go off is the backlight and nothing else.

"Off" is relative, I believe. I think the "off" power setting really
refers to the display and not the device itself - otherwise how would it
receive calls?

I know nothing about the program you're using or how it might interact
with the Mogul's settings, sorry.

I do note in passing that the supported device list for the slingbox
thing doesn't include the Mogul. Therein may lie your problem, as the
6700 IIRC runs WM5 and not WM6.

Not really. PPC Phones are really PDAs with a phone "grafted on."
All PDA based functions (including the display, the media player, web
browser etc.) shut down at power off, but the phone functions (phone
and e-mail client) stay on. Power consumption is much less on power
off. Picture the phone as a separate device inside the unit that is
controlled by the OS (because it lacks it's own display and controls)
sort of like a printer to a PC- the printer can stay on when the PC
is off, but can't really do very much by itself without the PC
controlling it.

It runs on both WM5 and WM6 just fine and I still need a way to shut just
the backlight off.

That reminds me, I should run over to the Sprint Store right now and say
something to them about the backlight.

Thanks.
