Default O Canada, eh?

Greetings,

Me and my T700P are traveling to Canada in about 3 weeks. I'll be in
Montreal for a long weekend. I'll probably have to make multiple
calls back to these United States. How can I do this inexpensively?

Best regards,

Tim ==

I don't think there is any way to do that inexpensively with a Sprint
phone.

If you really think you'll need to use a phone enough to cost
you significant money, one thing you could do is buy a Verizon phone
and service on the North America's Choice plan and then take it back
before the 30 day trial period is up. Roaming in Canada and calls
to the US are included in the plan minutes.

I'd be worried about doing this myself since I am insufficiently
well organized to reliably hit the dates, but if you can do that the
price for a month of roaming service is about as good as you can get.

Two options.

1. Suck it up and just pay, we did it with my cingular phone, cost wasn't
too bad, like half a buck a minute in and out, plus a few cents long
distance, might pay in the end.

2. Buy a pay as you go phone, or borrow a friends unlocked gsm phone and get
a Rogers pay as you sim. Since I have an unlocked Nokia, it is a viable
option if making more then a few calls.

Sprint has a Canada roaming plan, no contract required. Just call customer
servive (oops, service, lol) or go to a Sprint store, they can add it to
your plan .

BTW, lucky you to be going to Montreal, last thing you should be worrying
about is phone calling, hell through it away and have some fun !!!

What about text messaging? Will this work in Canada? Is it a roaming
charge?
