Default Problems with new Sprint Mogul Blue Tooth or BT stack

A lot of callers have complained I sound choppy on my new 6800. So I tried
3 different types of BT headset. They still complained I was cutting in
and out. So I posted on a few boards about the mogul - a lot of people are
having the same issue - many different BT units listed including new cars.

I just spoke to tech support at HTC - 866-449-8358 - first they asked me if
I tried other devices, resetting the device. Then I asked if there was a
patch or anything possible for this - they said it he's gotten a lot of
calls about this same issue so they are aware of it.

I'd suggest you call 866-449-8358, not to bug them but to let them know if
you are having this issue to try and make sure they get enough notification
so that the patch comes out sooner than later. I realize they said it he's
gotten a lot of calls about this same issue so they are aware of it but it
usually takes a rediculous amount of calls or e-mails about the same issue
for a big company to move forward on a patch. Hell, how many complaints
about igniting batteries did it take before Sony began a recall? I'm not
assuming HTC will be as bad as Sony but with the volume of calls a big
company gets, it takes a lot of identical complaints before a company takes
any issue seriously as there is very little communication between reps at
most bigger companies.

I think if enough people call about it who are having this issue we could
expect a patch reasonably soon but if we all just wait for it, it may never
come out if there isn't enough momentum.

I find bluetooth to be much poorer quality than the sound I get
talking through and listening through a regular headset. This is with
a Treo phone.

Yeah the treo BT isn't great (I support about 200 pda phones). The 6700
was not great when it came out but if you used a hacked firmware update to
bring it to WM5 AKU 3.5 it was pretty darn good - not as good as using the
Widcom stack instead of the MS BT stack but still not bad. But even the
6700 native MS BT stack was better on the 6700 when it first came out than
the one on the 6800.
