In Japan, they have tables with heaters under them. I think they are called kiadus or kotatsus or something.
Even if this is *not* the case, cell phones do not operate on the same wavelengths as microwaves.
Secondly, most cell phones max transmits at about 5w ERP (depending on model) - no where near what a 1500 watt
microwave would emit. Thirdly, the cell phones in the video all have internal antennas; but the people in the video feel the
need to point the top of the phones towards the popcorn for maximum effect. However, most internal cell phones have the
antenna positioned by the mouth piece - not the top. And lastly, energy radiated from an antenna is radiated with the
greatest concentration from the sides. This is why antennae that are designed to transmit on different frequencies have
differently sized antennae. The transmit and receive capabilities of the unit are directly related to the size of the antenna
and similarly to the wavelength of the signal that needs to be transmitted or received - hence the reason *wavelength*
is the terminology used, because radio signals do, in fact, have a length.
Don’t get me started on the SAR or specific absorption rate of these devices.
