Default sprint data service and data service standard?

Does Sprint offer data service? If so, what is the standard (CDPD, GPRS,
etc)? and what is the promised data rate?

I have been poking around the damn support website but can't get a clear
answer to this! Does anyone here know?

Yes, sprint offers data service.
The standards used are either CDMA2000 or EVDO. The EVDO is, I believe,
what is branded as "Power Vision".
CDMA2000 will get you 14400 bps and the extra money for the EVDO
upgrade gets you 400-700 kbps downloads but uploads are capped at 50-70
kbps.

I have gotten rates as high as 900 kbps down and 435 kbps upload
speeds with EVDO Rev. A which is the Sprint standard now. EVDO Rev. 0
gives speeds such as mentioned before and 1xrtt is the slowest. It
depends on what is offered in a particular area. Evdo Rev A is almost
everywhere except rural areas. There is a map on the Sprint web site.
