I recently acquired a Samsung m520. I wanted to use it not only as a
phone but as a music player. However, I find that it is not nearly as
capable a player as my simple $50 Sansa Clip. It does not support WMA
for example (the manual and advertising are distinctly misleading in
this regard). I can work around this by converting my existing WMA
library to MP3 but this does result in larger files when maintaining
the same approximate playback quality. One also cannot access the
player without the phone attempting to connect to the web, a service
which I do not currently subscribe to. My questions:
Once I have managed to jump through all the hoops necessary to get my
music on the phone, it does not seem to arrange by album. Am I
missing something, or do I have to manually create my own playlists?
If I must manually create playlists, is there a way to create them on
the PC and transfer them to the phone?
Is the Sprint Music Player the same across all of their phones or are
some phones more feature rich than others in this regard? I know that
at least some of their phones will natively play WMA (the LG's for
example).
Is there an alternate, downloadable player which I can use on this
phone that is more feature rich and will perhaps allow WMA playback,
arrangement of songs by album, and which will preserve the order of
songs by album?
