Default Upgrading using an "Unlocked" phone.

So the other day I destroyed my sanyo vi-23-100 phone, I put it in the
washer and dryer. I don't want to renew my contract with sprint. I
do want to upgrade to the Motorola KRZR K1 phone, and onestly I don't
want to pay $291 from the sprint store online. I did find the phone
for a little cheaper <a href="http://www.cellswholesale.com/
cellDetails.php?id=49&tab=2#details">here.</a> The phone is
"Unlocked" I havbe no idea if it can be compatible with the sprint
pcs network. I don't know much about networks and programming
phones. Is there anyone who knows if you can easily make this
"Unlocked" phone work on the sprint network? If so, how, or am I over
my head and just pay full retailit from the sprint store?

thanks

todd

It's not. Sprint uses CDMA technology, and that particular KRZR is GSM.

Impossible. Even if it were an "unlocked" CDMA version, Sprint will not
activate a phone on their network that they didn't sell originally, even
if it's compatible (i.e. Verizon phones are also CDMA and would work
technically, but Sprint won't activate them.)

Full retail or not, you'll need a Sprint-branded unit, whether it be from
a Sprint store, eBay, or wherever.
