Default Did independent dealers get screwed?

Our local independent T-Mobile store (and T-Mobile is all they sold) put
up a sign several months ago announcing that the store was closed for
remodeling and would reopen once the ATT-T-Mobile deal was completed.

It is still closed, and of course as we all know the ATT-T-Mobile deal
was aborted.

Were these independent stores *required* to remodel in preparation for
the merged entity? Did a whole bunch of these businesses get screwed?

Can;t talk about your local facility, but there are still
plenty of independent t-mobile stores in NYC (which has
native, so to speak, t-mobil towers).

I drove past that location today and saw that all the signs are gone,
including the name of the business itself. To what extent it was
T-Mo/ATT that screwed this guy I do not know. I feel sorry for him, as I
had always found him very helpful.
