Default Galaxy S

So what does everyone think about this phone, and do you think it'll be on
our T-Mobile plate?

2+ weeks to go...

Accodording to the specs on the Samsung website

http://galaxys.samsungmobile.com/spe....html?ver=high

The Galaxy S does not do HSxPA T-Mobile's 1700MHz band. I don't see why
TMO should sell (and subsidize) an expensive 3G phone that does not work
on their 3G network.

Klaus,
Thanks, I guess I should then reduce (or even dismiss) any expectations.

May I ask, of you or anyone who might catch this thread, what then would YOU
do if your 2-year contract with T-Mobile was up in a couple of months and
you were interested in a state-of-the-art phone?

I currently have the Samsung Memoir, and although I love the camera and the
fact that it IS internet capable, it's just not up to speed with what's
offered out there.

What should I be looking at if I want a truly smart phone, and not one
necessarily on the T-Mobile network?

Thanks!

Your question is too broad to answer. Go to T-Mobile's website and the
websites of other carriers and find a phone that appeals to you, then
come back here and ask about specific phones, you should be able to get
answers than.

You can also research phones on Howard Forums (www.howardforums.com)
and elsewhere.

The Galaxy S is an Android phone based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon
platform. T-Mobile has a few Android phones, but non of them as powerful
as the Galaxy S. They also have the HTC Touch HD2 which hardwarewise is
similar to the Galaxy S but runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 which is somewhat
outdated.

If you want fast hardware and state of the art OS, you may want to look
at Verizon's Droid Incredible, or wait a little (June 18?) for the
iPhone 4G to show up on AT&T.

There's also the HTC Desire and the Google Nexus One which have similar
Specs to the Galaxy S, but I don't know where you can buy those in the US...

I come here to find out what phones are worth it.
I still have no clue, different operating systems, different this and that,
man it drives me nuts ;o)

I know I want a qwerty keyboard, WiFi, etc.
And the newest best one ofcourse,
I have until 29th of july. When I finally can demand that
they realease my N95 of the 1.4 upgrade clamp, and I don`t
care how they are gonna do it, they are going to do it, when I finally
can get real upgrades for my Nokia N95. ;o)

Having said all this, can somebody here give me some clues?
(I am in the Netherlands.)

i had a Samsung Galaxy and didn't like it at all. First be sure the phone you choose will upgrade. The Samsung Galaxy 7500 had no follow up support.
I like the new EVO. Unfortunately it doesn't have a sim card, and I won't change carriers.
Be sure what ever phone you choose has updatability, or your phone is ancient a week after purchase and won't be able to use new apps.

Try an android that is up-datable. The new My Touch Slide has your keppad and is running the 2.1.
