downloading large map files over carrier. Wifi B/G/newest N. OLED
screen, 16.7M colors, 640x360, all the sensors.
TWO cams...webcam for video calling in front, Carl Zeiss 12 Megapixel
with 2X still/3X HDTV zoom with real xenon flash in back.
Changeable standard Nokia battery pack...microSDHC card slot up to 32GB

I've been waiting for an all-band WCDMA phone, this one's the
first. It's science fiction, though, they aren't actually
selling it yet, so Apple may still beat them to it.

"Beat them to it" doesn't mean much when comparing what it will do and what
iphone won't.....

Just the codec list like Flash, Realmedia, Windows Media are enough to get
my vote...even without the supercamera.

One of the blogs is talking less than $US500, unlocked with no carrier
subsidies. That's LOTS more phone for the same money as a 3GS without
subsidy. Symbian 3 looks and feels a lot like MeeGo (Maemo Linux + Intel's
OS). The 3 home screens reek of N900 influence.

Say what? The cheapest unsubsidized 3GS is about $700, e.g. here:

http://store.apple.com/hk/browse/hom.../family/iphone

At under $500 the N8 looks like a bargain on paper. If they
can manage to do all that at that price while not having the
phone look like a piece of cheap plastic junk (I don't know why
Nokia sometimes does that to their smart phones, their higher
end dumb phones always look really solid) they might have
something of a winner.

so you finally admit larger sensors have lower noise.

Better go look again. Carl Zeiss lens feeding the same sized CCD imager
the big cameras use.

It's not a pinhole....

It's not anything that Carl Zeiss would want his name identified with
either -- he's probably writhing in his grave. A famous name does not a
good lens make, much less a great one.
