Default prepaid phone

My son's phone isn't working well, I'm not eligible for an upgrade, but
I can get him a cheap refurb phone with no contract if I go to the
"Prepaid" section of the T-Mo website. Can I get one, pop in his
(postpaid) SIM and have it work?

I seem to recall the answer being YES but I wanted to make sure.

Yes. Or you can go to a local department store or numerous others
and pick up a new one for $25 (and up).

Speaking of which.... anyone know if prepaid coupons be used these
days to help cover a postpaid account? In the Very Good Very Old
Daze this worked. Then it stopped.

can you do it again nowadays?

Reason I ask is that a lot of the phones in stores include
a prepay coupon...

Thanks

You can't get an Optimus T for $25, and that's what I want to get for my
son.

You CAN get an Optimus T, refurb for $119 or new for $149, from T-Mo's
website.
