Recent T-Mo "NoStrings" HotSpot offer ...

I'm crowd-sourcing opinions about T-Mobile's recent "No Strings - Your
choice of Rewards" High Speed Data offer, of a free 4G Mobile HotSpot,
along with six 99-cent months of a 2 GB mobile broadband data plan.

(a) The HotSpot itself -- quality? value? is it T-Mo (US) 1700/2100 only,
or does it do European 1900/2100 as well? is it SIM-locked to T-Mo (and, if
so, will T-Mo enable un-SIM-locking it after three months or so)?

(b) It comes with its own new SIM? or I'm expected to swap out the SIM from
one of my active T-Mo handsets?

(c) The data plan -- what happens once the 6 months are up?

(d) What are the contractual hooks? (I know -- "no catches, no strings."
But hooks?)
